Question Tires

I've read all the information I can find on this board and on TDR, but still have a question. What is the minimum "Max load weight" tire we can put on these trucks? The reason I'm asking is because I can see that a Load Range D tire goes from 2600#'s per tire to 3200#'s per tire. They might be higher or lower, but that's just an example of the load Range D tire that I’ve seen. I understand the Load range has to do with the number of plies that are used (8 for D) and (10 for E), and maybe there is no correlation between the Load Range and Maximum load weight. I don't know, so any help would be appreciated. The reason this is coming up is my buddy is looking a getting the Pro Comp AT tires while they're still buy 3 get 1 free. The 33 is load range D and max load 2600#'s. The 35 is load range D and max load 3000#'s.

I've heard of Load D tires being put on these trucks. It's OK as long as you don't plan on towing a huge 5'er, or maxing your GVW. A lot of guys have put the BFG's off an H2 and I'm pretty sure those are D tires too. You simply should never exceed the load rating of the tire so on 4 D range tires that's about 12,000#.

How much buffer is there, ad can you icrease the pressure a little to help out? How can you tell if a tire is going to fail?

My BFG 315 load range D tires have the same max capacity as the stock BFG 265s which were load range E. One big difference is that the bigger tires have a lower max air pressure rating. The stockers were 80lb max and the 315s are 50 lb max. I pulled a 12,000 lb hitch mount trailer a few weeks ago and at 50 lb the tires did not squat at all....
