Tire Weight & MPG

Tire Weight & MPG - Goodyear(#2) or BFG(#8)?
I am torn between the new Goodyear Silent Armor tire (RANKED # 2 at Tirerack) or the BFG All Terrain K/Os (Ranked #8). http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey....jsp?type=ORAT
The Goodyear gets better snow, rain and noise ratings than the BFG.
I have been reading that a heavier & thus larger tire will cause a MPG loss.
The Goodyear Silent Armor in size 285-70-17 weighs about 55 LBS per tire.
The BFG All Terrain weighs 55 LBS.
So both tires are about the same weight wise. How much MPG will one lose going from a 265 size to a 285 size? The stock 265 size weighs 44 LBS per tire. So 11 LBS more per tire going from 265 to a 285.
I figured that with a taller tire it will gain a little MPG but then with the weight and tread design it will lose some, all-in-all, causing it to break even.
Help me to decide!!

I gained about 1 mpg as best as i can tell when I switched from 265's to 285's, because of the gear ratio change. I like BFG's, so I don't have any experience with the Goodyears, can't help you there...

The 285-70-17 Goodyear Silent Armor tires are coming out SEPTEMBER 17th. That is why Tire Rack does not currently have them listed.
The tire is a D load rage with 3,195 @ 65...
