I went too 35's the same time i got my smarty, and i have a 6 speed, but i gained a solid average of 2+ mpg. I was averageing 19 with summer fuel with a best of 22.5, and now with winter fuel i am averaging 21, with a best of 22.9.

Pulling there is a lost of power too. Due to the higher ratio created by the 315's. Guys out there with manual trans probably wouldn't experience any of this.

Mine are heavy lug MT's so it may not be as noticeable with an AT.
Your're speedo is only off 5mph at a certain speed. Your speedo is off by a percentage. Thus, at 75mph it's off a lot more than at 35mph.

If you get what they call the "off road tires" you get the BFG Rugged Trail TA.

i went from the 265's to 305's and lost about 1.5 mpg. the rpms at highway speeds droped but wider tires case more friction.

its the width of the tire that kills milage more than anything.(more rubber on the road equals more friction). the TOYO 285/75/17 look pretty good to me. that will be my next tire for sure.

Just ordered a set of Helo HE835 and gonna wrap them with Nitto Terra 295's, coming up from 265's. I'll keep ya posted on how they do. Getting 17-18 with 50/50 driving.

Exactly!!!!! Get a percentage difference between stock and the new bigger tires add that to your shown mileage to get the actual miles driven then you can figgure actual mileage. Case in point My 35s are approx 10% bigger than stock if my speedo says 30mph im going 33mph and so on ive checked it with my GPS its pretty accurate. I hope this helps

Also keep in mind your over head MPG isnt correct if you are using a tuner or a box not sure why but they jack up the computer, even if you have one that allows you to change tire size. Add the percentage and use a pencil if you want to know what its really doing.
