fill out your signature with everything you have done to it. People will be able to help you better if they know if you have any mods done.

Dynamic timing though.

Currently I have the truck all factory I pulled the Bully Dog off about 3 weeks ago when I noticed the pinging. No codes have been thrown yet. I ran it by a shop that is known for being the area cummins guy and he said IDONNO maybe your computer.....

Have you checked the injectors out they can cause a know if their cracked and throwing a horrible spray pattern out or if their not firing at all.

I have not had them checked yet... would they cause the engine to be staying reved up to +-2200 rpm for 2-3 minutes this is with my foot off the pedal?

Bad injectors can cause engine knocking sometimes they will crack and the messed up spray pattern will cause then knocking noise. Other times (when solenoid may fail) and that cylinder becomes dead that can create a knock. This will not cause then engine to rev. like what you described but can at times cause abnormalities in the idle area jumping and then falling at times, also can cause heavy surging. Try getting a new update from dodge and see if that may help, their may be something funny going on in your ecu. Or could be a valve sticking.

Dynomite Diesel Performance, Formula 1(DON M), or Industrial Injection all three companies can do repairs to your injectors if the problem is in the bodies. Worst case scenario your nozzle(s) are cracked and you have to pay core charge for that one(s) that are bad and then get aftermarket nozzles. All three companies have killer products.
