Timing vs EGT's
Hey I have a question...most programmers on the market now will increase timing to get some more power and fuel economy...I have noticed also with alot of timing your EGT's go down...to a point...my question is are we really being fooled into thinking our motors are running cooler when thier not...I know timing increases cylinder temp, and you'll never see that on the exhaust manifold....
I noticed today running timing #3 and sw#7(TnT) my EGT's were normal, but the truck stayed about 210..normal for me is 190-200....it would cool down to 190, but as soon as a got on it back to 210...
It was 105 today in Phoenix....so it could be that...

Be sure not to confuse diesel timing with gasoline timing. Also, the heat comming out of your exhaust manifold is not lying. If you have an accurate gauge, then the numbers are correct.
