Time to pop my 3rd gen’s performance cherry

Hey fellow Dodge guys I have had my 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 for a month now and Have all ready dropped 5 grand in to her ( seat cover, superlift lift kit, 37in tires and 20in rims, and a crome grill) but now its time to unlock the true power of this beast. I want to do it the smart way though I would like to keep my warranty as long as I can. The truck only has 26,000 miles on it. I just did my first oil change to it to I used Rotella T 5w-40. One day I would like the truck to be making alittle over 500rwhp and over 1000ib-ft but I want the truck to be able the work hard and be a daily driver. I’m looking first to improve the weak parts on the drive train and engine of the truck, What are the best parts to buy to do just that for now. Thank you for your help.

Fisrt off I would use 15W-40 oil, that would help. Tranny is a weak spot if you have an auto and clutch is weak if you have a manual. If you want to keep your warranty you really technically can not do any chips or programmers. Smarty claims that they leave no footprint so it won't void your warranty but I have not tried this one out for myself. I am sure that others will chime in about other thing that you can do.

With a lift wheels and tires I would say drivetrain and other such warranties are history. As far as mods, just what everyone else has said...If you play, you gotta pay. Meaning if you mod this thing out, be prepared to be your own warrenty station.

Fill out your sig line, so everyone can see what you are driving and give you more precise advise. I would do some gaugues and tranny and fuel pump mods first off. That will increase reliability, and allow you to add more reliable power on down the road.

well I think it all depends on what you want out of the mods. if you want power plus smoke there are certain modules that will smoke and others wont. like stated above more than likely your warranty is gone for your drivetrain but some dealers will actually fix stuff that breaks. ive had good luck with bully dog, tst & the smarty. the only bad box I had was a ts mp8.

Open the airbox, exhaust, better lift pump, and stack a TSTPowerMax CR & Powerplay MP-8, and Aurora 5000turbo, and it will put550hp,1050torque at the wheels. This is all the folks at Diesel Power did to get those numbers. The exhaust ran 1400 degrees stock at 250hp at the wheels, and 1450 degrees with the mods at 550 hp., not to bad.
