Thuren suspension w 35" toyo MTs installed - have some questions
I just installed the Thuren suspension on my 06 QC LB. The suspension has his track bar, steering stabilizer, extended end links, mini packs, and stage 3.5 valving. I am running this with Toyo 35" MTs on the stock rims.
When I was stock and driving at highway speeds, the truck's steering was very responsive. Cutting the steering wheel would instantly cause it to turn quickly. Now the steering on the highway is slow to respond, which is understandable. But the weird thing is that it feels that the rear responds to the steering slower then the front. If I merge lanes fast it feels that the rear is sort of snaking along. Its hard to explain, feels like when i straighten out the wheel that the front is done turning but the rear is still turning. It might be described as a sort of mini fishtailing feeling. Obviously the tires haven't lost traction but you get the feeling similar to it.
I have never drove a lifted vehicle before. Is this just a normal characteristic of the lift/tire combination, or is something not quite right. Other then that I love the lift and cant wait to test it out off road

Larger sidewall of the tire might be creating a washed out feeling in the rear, what tire pressure are you running, increasing the pressure might help. I had a truck that handled differently with 35's, to use NASCAR terms, it would push(not want to turn) going into a turn and then feel loose (back end felt like it wanted to swap with the front) right before coming out of the turn. I got used to it....
Might want to back and tighten down all the bolts and such that you removed for the install.
Oh yeah...pictures please....

ill check the pressure later today. that would actually make sense that this feeling would be becasue of low pressure. Don't the Toyo MTs have a really strong sidewall? What pressure should i run in the front and rears?
Pics will be coming soon. I have the pocket style fender flares being painted right now, and then ill get some pics.

Kinda noticed the same thing when I first put my lift on with the Toyos as well. Seems as time has gone on it has stopped doing that, or I got used to it. Some said it was the tires wearing down slightly, I don't know.

With my old truck, like snoyes said, I just got used to it. You did alter the center of gravity and the suspension characterisitcs when the lift went in, makes sense that it will handle differently. I would go back tighten all the hardware after a couple hundred miles anyway, just to make sure.
So where are those pictures....nevermind, sorry didn't see the bottom of your post...

Its going to handle differently with the 35s/taller sidewalls, they just arent as responsive as the shorter sidewalls were since you have more flex in them.(As well as raising up the center of gravity like jamesbfishin said)
My truck doesnt handle as well as it did at stock height with the stock tires, but I wouldnt say its anywhere near bad, but it can always be improved

I think its a combination people are feeling of the taller tires sidewall flex and the flex in the M/T tread and not being use to this feeling. Just nature of a taller tire and a M/T in my experience and takes a little time to get use to and fine tuning on tire pressures.
