You need to give your intercooler more credit.
I give it lots of credit, and can see changes from every intake mod I have done and monitor IAT. Hot air is still hot air, the IC only drops it so much and if you start hot you end up hotter.

It's not my truck and turbo, so I don't care what filter you run.. but you have been warned they are known to do a lot more harm than good.

I can not speak on the Home Depot version, but I can on the Lowes version. I have never had a problem with snow or water. Lowes sell a conical critter guard that sets right in, so when I change the filter I lift the critter guard out and spray it off.

Tons of two track and dusty gravel roads amd long winters of dry snow and never an issue with the Home Depot mod. I even ran the 4" drop into a 4" to
6" rubber sewer flange. Stuck it facing forward in the fog light hole.

I bet the reason you don't have a dust issue is that its in the fog light hole. When its directly above the ground they suck up dirt!

My friend has to change his stock filter setup after 50 miles in Baja. No HD mod. I like your setup with the plug. Well thought out.

Interesting. I would imagine dirt composition has a lot to do with it, but like I said the one and only time I didn't block it off the filter and airbox were FULL of dust!
