think i have trouble

I have a 2005 dodge ram 2500 ctd 6speed. got a southbend con ofe clutch, smarty s-06, afe stage II and rocktech timing sensor. Exhaust is straight piped. I have 67000 on my truck and 37000 of it was with the smarty. first 30000 was the edgejuice. I feel like my truck is down on power. I run on sw9 all the time just about. I used to beable to nail the gas in 3rd or fourth rolling down the road and sometimes fifth and the truck would break the tires loose and rip roar down the road. It seems to be more like a stock truck on sw9 now... Have the latest std smarty programming updates.. I was playin hell to keep up with my friends 6.0 ford with the sct that I usually ran right with or in front of.. My filters are clean and oil is fresh. Do I have trouble you think?? Could my lift pump be crapping out??

If you haven't upgraded from the stock pump, then yes, definitely! the stock lift pump doesnt have the strength to hold sw9 very long, upgrade to a better pump and you should really feel the difference.

If you can, check your pump pressure with a gauge. But most likely you are draining it because the Smarty demands alot out of sw9, more than my pump could even think to handle. heck, sw 7 flatlined too on my truck before i put the airdog in.

Yes, anytime you add any programmer or chip you should also add gauges.

I know also that alot of 05's are having problems with the electronic wastegate actuators. The actuators are getting stuck leaving the wastegate open and not letting the turbo build full boost. Mine also did this causing it to run like a dog and high egts.

treadway47025 135 posts and still don't have a sig yet?
Like said above do all of the above.
Get the Airdog or Fass. Both very good. Get gauges too, maybe even a rail pressure gauge too.
You would be able to answer most of your questions by gauge readings. Like how much FP or Boost you have.

Guages could definitely help diagnose the problem. If some sort of debris got into your cp3, it would definitely lag on power. You'd know cuz your rail pressure would be WAY down. Quads's fuel pressure, rail pressure, boost, and ECT temp is a handy guage!

Get gauges and a lift pump and go from there. If you get a lift pump and it fixes the problem, get the gauges anyway, they are invaluable for diagnosing problems. You need egt, boost, low side fuel pressure, and rail pressure. I know it sucks spending money on mods you can't feel but they keep you from smoking the motor and diagnosis.

on level 5 today I pulled my trailer with a bobcat on it and the torque was there for pulling and it felt good. When unloaded. level 9 it just doesnt have what it should.. Goin to get me a set of gauges and a new pump setup shortly.. May park it for awhile being diesel is so high. looking at a 2002 tacoma 4cyl for my work commuter. Keep the hoss for doing heavy work and camping/offroading trips with the jeep and atvs. Thanks to all who have replied. I think I may need to get a turbo to help pick up on the highend.. Thats where I feel I am lagging the most.

Well if the problem still exists with it set to stock then I doubt it's the lift pump. The in-tank pumps have no problem keeping up with stock fueling demands.

As far as it feeling like a 4cyl auto when you went back to stock, that's about right. I don't think these trucks are normally much faster than a 4cyl Toyota when stock. What do you expect it to feel like going back to 275hp after 67000 miles at 400+hp.
