I have an '07 5.9 and love it! The only thing I miss about the '98.5 is the seats. The G-56 shifts way easier than the three NV5600's I drove. I can see an SBC in my horizon soon so I can crank up the Smarty some. Enjoy the enhanced braking, performance, steering and cab quietness.

Congrats on the new truck, it looks like mine. I'm gonna give you some advice that most people won't agree with, and that is to leave it stock tuning wise. I've been on this website for a number of years and have seen alot of people come and go. And it all starts with....I just bought this truck what do I need to have to get to (insert hp here). 6 months to a year from then they are in the classifieds selling it losing their butts. If you can afford 5k at any point then by all means get after it. BUT if 5k gives you hesitation then keep it stock and drive it.

Congrats on the new truck.
As for the 37" tires and smarty. It is up to you! I've done it and haven't toasted my tranny YET. Tranny is all stock, just change the fluid and filter every 20k.
History of the truck:
Lifted and 37's at 5,500 miles
Smarty at 18,700
Turbo at 20,100
currently at 46,800
and smarty has been on sw9 since the turbo install.
a pic for you.

you guys are running the smarty on stock auto's? i was under the impression that any extra HP over 30 will toast your stock TC?
I want to add a smarty to my new truck but im still saving to add a new TC and VB.
