TCS input shaft broke

A couple years ago I was towing and broke my stock input shaft when my truck shifted into overdrive.

I talked with several manufacturers and transmission part dealers. Decided to save some coin and buy direct from TCS. I was told that sense I was towing, not racing or sled pulling they would stand behind the shaft as it will not break under my conditions.

At first I used it behind a Dayco converter sense the PTC I had was being fixed after the stock input broke.

I really wanted to use my tripple disk low stall converter so I switched the PTC back in last fall.

Two weeks ago the TCS shaft broke. I called them and Rusty said he could probably help me out, but need to talk to his dad. Well they offered to sell me a new one for half price. So much for them saying I would never break it and they would stand behind it. I am not going to put another TCS shaft in the truck as it tears up more than it is worth when it breaks in the oil hole.

Just ordered a Sonnax shaft as many venders that were using TCS had the same problems.

Just got the Sonnax shaft yesterday. Went to trans part supplier this morning and found I could have gotten the shaft $75 dollar's cheaper from them. Waiting on a pump and we will se how it goes.

Getting a lot of wear on the rear support and rear drum for some reason.

Has ayone else had that problem?

how does the transition flare look on the new vs old ? I know of a few places that concentrate on making this a more gradual radius to keep the stress at that point a bit more spread out.

Hauled a car I sold to a guy this afternoon.

The transmission still shifts hard into OD. I think it is time to try another VB. The current one is a Suncoast. I installed another accumulater piston in the VB but the truck still shift hard. Thanks for the part to try Dave Goerend. In fact I think I will try his VB next.

i thought the springs in the VB controlled the shifting?

X2!

Break a billet shaft and you usually loose a whole bunch of expensive parts....Not just the shaft.

Been there, tcs done that= Bought the Ultimate with fat shafts.....Something to think about if your serious.

Snapped my input the other day. Got lucky as it was a pretty clean break. Not sure yet if it was a TCS but I suspect it probably was.

Mild acceleration from a roll. I had lost lockup with the converter a few days prior so I assume the the shaft was already twisted before it snapped.
