T/C Lock-Up Under WOT...

Does the T/C normally lock-up under WOT? If you do a boosted launch and keep the pedal mashed to the floor, will the T/C still lock-up in each gear?

Unless you get some form of lockup controller, it is wild how they pull when locked up in 2nd

If you use the Tow / Haul button the TC will lock in 3rd.

Wrong...lockup is at 55 mph stock...sometimes it takes another split second...or 5-10 mph to lock...but it will lock in third WOT. It will no lock in second unless the selector is in second...then it locks at 30-35 mph.

You do not have to have the tow haul button on to make it lock in 3rd...but it still will lock in 3rd at 55 mph or so with the tow haul button on.

The 05 and 06 setups are not the same.
I think some are confusing the two.
The 06 has the capability to turn the TCC on in 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
The 05 is not the same. I do not know it`s TCC function/control parameters.
I do know on the 06 @ W.O.T. the TCC will not engage when up shifting until 4th gear, even in tow/haul mode. (This is @ W.O.T. only.) It`s not practical to shift 1-2, 2-3, hold 3 and go to TCC, drop TCC shift 4th and then go 4th-TCC.
1-2, 2-3, 3-4, 4-TCC is the pattern @ W.O.T.

My mistake...I did not see the 06. Prior to 06 my comments stand.

Whoops.

Thanks Dr. I figured it would work like that, but haven't had a chance to really test it out myself.

Anyone with a lock-up switch try engaging it in 3rd while running at the track? Does it make a noticeable difference in ET's?

Not practical? Thats the way the 05's work and thats the only practical way to use lockup in our out of TH, OD off or on.

Sounds like the engineers spent so much time trying to make the EB work with the ECU they forgot or couldn't make the good parts of the 05 work with it.

You should be able to feel when it locks, should feel like another gear shift and rpms will more closely match speedometer. Put it in 2 and after 2nd gear shift keep accelerating and you will feel the lockup.

At the track to start with I would lock mine after the 2nd gear shift and keep it locked until the end. After the stock flexplate let go and was replaced I started locking it as soon as fully launched in 1st. It helps considerably to have a downloader that removes or reduces the torque management system.
