surging cruise control w/ dr P??

Thing runs great, throttle response is impressive. So impressive the cruise control surges like crazy. It's really annoying not to mention what it's probably doing to economy. Is the cruise sensitivity adjustable? At the moment they are not compatable (dr p and cruise control). Any suggestions? Does this occur with other modules? If I can't get the cruise to work properly this is probably going to be removed or at the least I'll have to rig a switch to turn it on just when I need it..

Called Dr. P and they said it is unique to 03 and that the dodge dealer had a reflash for the surging cruise. Called dodge and they said to bring it in and they would have it fixed real quick. Apparently it's a known computer bug just on the early 03 (according to dodge).
It surged or was just too sensitive before the dr p but was livable. The dr p just really exagerates the original problem Hopefully dodge boys can fix it up for me.. Arlon

I have the same issue with my 03 with the EZ hooked up. When the EZ is unhooked the cruise works fine. I took it in to a dealer to have it looked at. There is a TSB for the 03 manual trannys but nothing for the auto, unless it has recently (past 3 months) been released. Anybody know?

When I called Dodge, they knew about the surging cruise but didn't mention auto or manual. I just took it in this morning so I'll see what comes of it this afternoon. I hope it's fixable because the cruise is useless with the dr-p as it is...

Arlon,

Please let me know what they say. If it is fixable I will be taking mine in again to have them look at it. It sucks not being able to use cruise control with the edge in.

Got the reflash done and it is definately a lot better but it is still noticeable at 65 mph or less. At 70 it seems to be about the same with the dr-p as it was before without it. Still there but at least driveable. I only had a few miles of highway to run it on and will try a longer distance possibly this evening. I'll try and get the TSB # this evening too. Arlon.

The surging is still there. I got to do a little more driving with it. It seems to be about as noticeable as it was before. It's not surging like it's going to die, it just speeds up, slows down, speeds up, slows down at a maddening pace. The cruise is just way to sensitive and the dealer said it was not adjustable. I just can't imagine there is a cruise control that can't be adjusted.. I just need to find the right source for info and DC doesn't appear to be it.. Arlon.

Darn! I was hoping they would have a fix for it. I notice in mine if I set the cruise to around 72-75 it acts ok. But if I set it under 70 then I can watch the boost gauge go up and down (+/- 5lbs) and I can feel it in the seat of the pants. Hopefully they will discover a fix for it...

My truck does it with the EZ and Juice/Attitude stacked. If I set the juice on level 0 the surging stops.
