Superchips 05
Looking At Ordering The Superchips For My 05. My Question Is Does It Have A Low Setting That I Can Run On Daily That Won't Cause Any Problems With The Truck. I Don't Really Want A Big Hp Increase Just Want To Adjust The Speedo For The 35" Tires. A Small Hp Increase Would Be A Plus But Like I Said Not Looking For That 100 +. Just A Program I Can Put In And Forget About And Drive It For The Next Gazillion Miles.

The 3805 FlashPaq has a performance tune and a towing tune, so you could download the tow tune and forget it. That is the one I would suggest you to try first to see if it adds enough power for what your after.

I dont know about the superchips for the dodges, but my buddy has one on a 7.3 powerjoke, and it has 3 settings-tow safe, tow, and performance. He has run them on all 3, and of course performance was the best, but tow safe did good, and he didnt have to worry about anything happening to the truck.

I think that the tow setting is around 50 hp and 125 ft/lb and the performance is around 90hp and 185 ft/lb I think. I have done both in my truck and they both run very well. I haven't had any problems, I have had it in there for about a week. I pulled my 20 ft enclosed trailer and didn't throw any codes or anything.

What's your trialer weigh? I pull a 6500 pound camp trailer (less family and stuff) total combined gvw at 16,000 and have the Sierra's just around the corner so I get to pull one of the biggest grades in the country.
Might put this in durring the Norcal dyno days on 1/28 so I can get a dyno number to back it up.

superchip
Mine has been on for over a week now in the 114hp-"performance" setting.Even when my wife drives it everyday,or I get in and thrash a little,it has had no problems. The milage rocks.I will probly put the 58hp-"performance tow" setting in before I pull my trailer for the simple fact that I don't have gauges yet to monitor tranny and exhaust temps. But as soon as I get em,I will probly try the higher setting with my little trailer first before going to the 36 foot enclosed.

so i can put it in the tow mode and leave it for a daily driver even while not towing? when i had purchased the bddl for all of one day before it sent my truck into recovery mode that i couldn't get out of they told ne not to run it in tow mode daily. any thoughts on this?

Who told you not to run it in tow daily? Bully Dog or the dealer that sold you the Bully Dog?
It will not matter to your truck if you load the tow mode program and run it. Its on there to program the truck to tow better. What happens to someone who buys it, downloads the tow mode and tows all day long? Isnt he running it in tow mode daily? Just a thought.
It should not matter. So I would double check who told you that because it does not make sense!

[QUOTE=Derek Timm]Thanks for the re. I looked at HP's info and it didn't have the numbers. (not that I believe everything I read)[QUOTE]
Sometimes its like pulling teeth for us to get real numbers.
The FlashPaq average gain is 80hp and 185 ft lbs torque on a diesel.
I am not 100% sure, but would think the Superchips does raise the rail pressure, as most others do to get the gains.

The dyno will tell me
Well I'm going to take Superships up on the 30 day money back deal and try the flashpaq this this weekend.
I'm going to put it on durring the Norcal dyno days this weekend and I'll post the dyno numbers when I'm done.
I might have to stap that droft boat down a little tighter next time I go fishing!

Guys, Anything over 65hp without gauges is playing with fire. Some of the 600 610's are hitting 1400 degrees stock add 20% more fueling and it isn't getting cooler Adding a box with out gauges or without improving the air flow in and out is just silly. ks
