suggestions for my 03

hows it going. i bought a used 2003 2500 crewcab short bed cummins with a 6speed. it has an industrial injections stage II cp3 pump, a fass 95, an ats 2 piece exhaust manifold, 5 inch straight piped exhaust, ladder bars, a van aken (or something like that) and bullydog torque dog programmer, an aftermarket turbo (not sure which one), boost and egt guages, and 18x9 rockstar wheels with 35 inch mickey thompsons. Im not sure if there is anything else done to it but i was just wanting to get some suggestions on what next to do to it.

I want to set it up for racing. it gets pretty hot though when i have both of the programmers turned up and i get on it. I would like to stack the smarty on top of the other two and i was just reading about the smarty revo. i wasnt sure if i could stack it with the two programmers i have or if its a wise decision to do that. also can i just buy a used smarty and then download the revo program onto it or would i have to buy the smarty revo edition from them. im not sure how that whole thing works. also does anybody know about how much the smarty revo is

any ideas or suggestions of what to do would be greatly appreciated
thanks alot

First thing I would do is get the Smarty. The REVO tune will be available for free download in the next few weeks, so you can move to that when it comes out. Hopefully you have a good clutch setup in the truck.

Smarty will run cooler egts and likely make as much power by itself as your current stack does. I am getting 450/1060 in an automatic truck with a Smarty REVO only and a stock 04.5 turbo. What we have seen consistently on the dyno is that many times stacks just dont work very well and sometimes work against each other. You can get certain ones to work well, if you have some dyno time and can really scientifically go through all the possible iterations. My advice lately has been Smarty first, then add one programmer at a time and see what you can get with it.

power will depend on the level you choose and your other mods (mostly how much fuel and air you can move. You should figure out what turbo you have and know what boost you can hit. Also if you have different injectors or not.
Once you own a smarty, you can download the different programs for free. REVO will be one program you can download once they release it

ok ill try to figure out if there are aftermarket injectors and what kind of turbo i have. if it still has stock injectors what would be the cheapest but still dependable route to go to get bigger ones. can i take it somewhere and have them redo them or just get new ones. thanks

you can simply go with nozzles of the 50 or 90hp variety. That is the most cost effective way to fly. I may have some low mileage 50hp assemblies available in the next two weeks.

i just thought of something. do you think just gettin the smarty and waiting for the revo to come out would be better than stacking a smarty jr with the van aken and the bully dog torque dog that i have now. im not looking to spend alot of money and i no the smart jr's are a little cheaper. also does anybody no off hand what years the van aken and the torque dog would fit. they are on an 03 now so i figured they would work with 03-04 trucks only. not really sure though. thanks

I would recommend the SR. The JR is really designed for basic hotrodders/folks who are towing. It doesnt have the flexibility of the SR and it wont make nearly the power.

Ok i talked to the guy he said that the turbo is a custom built hx 55 hybrid built by JR Adkins. It has a 66mm inducer with a 16 cm ehaust housing. And the truck has stock injectors. So i guess i will be looking for injectors and most likely a smarty. You said you would recommend 50-90hp injectors probably nothing more. Also im sorry im not quite clear. if i buy a used smarty i am still able to download the new revo tune off the smarty website. Do i just use a usb cable to download it or do you need to get the cable that comes with the smarty. thanks again for all the time and help

You can certainly do larger injectors than 90. But nozzles are the least expensive and are generally offered in just 50 or 90hp versions. Full injectors are likely a better investment.

A used smarty is fine, they are USB upgradeable. That turbo is pretty beefy, you likely need more fuel to get the most from that rig.

it has a industrial injection stage II cp3 pump and a fass 95. would you suggest a fass 150 or what else. i found some 90 hp ddp injectors for 500. is that a good deal.

seems like an ok deal. The rest of the fuel system is plenty adequate, no need to mess with that.
