strait pipe exhaust?
anyone no if a strait pipe exhaust is actually better for a diesle, or does it cause harm to the engine/ maybe torque loss! if so do you leave the cat's on it or go from the cat back?

No harm at all to it. Less restriction is much better and the factory cat/muffler is very restrictive I think. I didn't notice any torque loss at all when I went with a muffler delete and then later straight pipe. I went with an aftermarket system and still no difference. The straight was just a little too loud for my tastes. The drone while pulling trailers gets annoying. It sounded pretty decent though.....

Its illegal to remove the cat. Now that being said, my '03 didnt come with a cat and with the muffler removed it is plenty rowdy. I only have the resonator on it.

it`s illegal for you to remove where you have emissions testing....only. If you don`t have emissions I`ll pull it off, who`s gonna say anything if there`s no testing. They even looked under my truck to see if it was factory or not....
