I have a std. cab - the muffler and cat (for off road use only of course). It is loud but it is significantly louder in a std cab compared to a quad cab. Drone isn't bad unloaded but when towing it can get rather loud. I finally got all of my stack stuff in today so I will be putting 6" miter cut stacks on within the next week or so.

Heck Yeah trod77 Gotta love a truck that Barks. I like about 2600rpm and 2 story brick buildings myself, lol if ya don't leave the muffler on.

4" downpipe, 5" from where the cat used to be back, 6" tip, I love it
To me, its the best sound you can get out of a 3rd gen.
3rd gens sound alright with stacks, only with a 6spd, but still nothing compared to a 12 valve with stacks

I put the MBRP replacement muffler on mine. Yanked the kitty (offroad use only). It has a nice deep tone throughout the rpm range. It's a little loud, but in a nice way. Haven't towed anything with this setup yet so I couldn't tell you about that. No real drone on the highway.

I ran a 4" straight pipe on my regular cab and then went to a 5" set-up downpipe back and was actually quieter than the 4" while driving. Only drone I have is when the truck is at 50-55 and the torque converter locks up. Also a little louder at WOT.

I did the same to my 3rd gen it sounds pretty good, but when i did it to my girlfriend's dad's 2nd gen it sounded really good. Although we dumped it out right before the rear wheel with no tip on his so that might account for some of the difference.
