Straight Pipe, Turndown & Drone
Does anyone have or have experience with a 2003/2004 HO with a straight pipe setup & a turndown? If so, what was the sound difference with and without the turndown and did it help reduce any drone? I have a deep drone when accelerating from 1500 RPM to around 2000 RPM and then its a slight, constant humming sound.
I'm thinking of putting a 4 or 5 inch turndown on my exhaust and pointing it at about a 45 to 60 degree angle out the rear of the truck.

Sorry Chad but what you are hearing is just called the exhaust note. That's the sound diesels make. You just hear it more now because the exhaust note is louder than before. Please remember that you have purchased a diesel truck and not a Cadillac.
Also, I had a turndown on my 98 and I think it was a little louder but not too much.
