stock intercooler boots

how much psi will the stock intercooler boots hold? i have an 05 with the predator tow tune installed. i was hauling my gooseneck with a heavy load on sunday and after cresting a steep hill i shifted from 5th tp 6th gear and heard a loud pop and hiss. upon further investigation i discovered the side of the intercooler blew out. i was holding a consistent 40 psi up the hill, ran good, gauges stayed in safe rank. the bost was around 40. if it blew at 40psi will the hoses be blowing off soon too?

Do you have the limited edition plastic intercooler ? Could be why it blew. I still have one on mine - still holding. One of these days I am going to switch it out.

Nope had the metal one the intercooler boots that fit directly on the turbo and the tube running to the intercooler was a cheapo and dodge fixed the problem on later models after 04.5.

I don't know how much they're rated for, but I run 55 psi daily, and haven't had any problems yet. --Eric

yes i do. took it to the dealer this morning and showed where it blew the folded seam open. i asked about it being replaced with a metal one and they said they didn't know. they input a part number for that year and install whatever they get sent. i read on here somewhere that DC realized the problem and went back to metal ones in 05.5, i just hope mine gets replaced with a metal one. if not i'll be looking for one as soon as it comes back from the dealer.

My stock ones are holding 55-60 and no problems yet. Wait til they blow and if they do, replace them then.
