steering stabilizers

i have been have a problem with my death wobble coming back after 5500 miles without it. do you think that upgrading my ranchero dual stabilizers to like a single kore stabilizer would make a difference?

Stabilizers are kind of like a band-aid...I'd try to find the problem first. What did you do to get rid of it the first time?

I agree that the stabilizer(s) is not the problem. My one time DW in 58,000 miles was caused by a number of my dumb things. I ran 2" leveling spacers and 315s for over 55,000 miles with only the one real DW and most of that with the stock stabilizer. When ever I would get a vibration that made me think DW it was always corrected by tire balancing and rotation.

Tires have a big part to do with dw. I have fought with dw alot this past year. I now have it licked. I had to do the following. When you go to oversize tires, and leveling kits, you need to find a good wheel alignment guy, and have him advance your castor to the limit. Then as was suggested earlier, rotate your tires. If you keep this up you will have either no, or little effects of DW. The steering stabilizers stop your tires from going left and right, dw is where the tires go up and down, sorta like they are trying to climb over themselves

Actually, I think you are all wrong, well not totally. While the things mentioned above do help, I dont think they are the main problem. My death wobble was fixed with a new tie rod (I think thats what its called) and new ball joints. I had around 80k when I had mine replaced and it totally fixed the problem, now Im back to 85+mph and havent had so much as a shake. The dodges have a problem with DW when you put bigger tires on or your compenents wear out, which bigger tires help wear out the componets mentioned above! The stabilizers just help some, but dont fix the problem. The balanced tire thing, will definatley help as well. The combo of the mix is what will get it to stop!

boss hog, yes that is true that could cause a death wobble, I was basing my info on that a person would have checked the obvious mechanical problems.
