Starting to get some turbo whine??
OK, we just started our cross country trip pulling our fiver and going up some of the hills in western North Carolina I'm noticing a slight whine, I'm assuming from the turb?
Can't relate it to doing any work on the truck other than just changing the oil.
Is my turbo going south??

What direction is the truck going?
Seriously, pull the intake tubing. using your fingers, try to move the impeller up and down, and back and forth. There should be no back and forth (in/out). If there is, the thrust washer is going and you need to rebuild now.
A little up/down is permissible as long as the impeller does not touch the housing.
Look for oil coming out of the impeller which indicates a worn or blown seal and is also time for a rebuild.
