Stainless Lug Nuts?
Anyone have a good recomendation on Stainless Steel Lug Nuts (60 degree conical) for aftermarket wheels? I have some Gorilla Lug Nuts and the outer finished layer is completely rusted away... Thanks

I have gone down this road myself. There are a couple od small manufactures of these but in my opinion nothing was strong enough. You may want to look at the McGard they have a lifetime plating guarantee.

stainless is a great material-but can be brittle-
it won't rust, but could snap. Plus, using stainless threaded fasteners is a PITA. They have a tendancy to bind up on you without lots of lube-then your torque values are all out. You might end up shearing off some of your wheel studs.
JMHO.

The strongest stainless fastener is maybe typically equal to maybe a grade 5 standard bolt...
Yuck. Look for high tensile material with a good coating...or plating.

Thanks guys.... Those McGard Lug Nuts look nice, but you pay for them at $123.99 (Summit Racing) for a set of 32. I was just thinking there might be something out there that is plated/coated and actually durable in high tensile.

I used the stainless Gorilla lug nuts and haven't had any issues. They are standard steel with a stainless sleeve. They work great.
