I have a Magnaflow 5" polished stainless tip that fits onto a 4" pipe that I'll sell cheap. The Magnaflow is designed with an air pocket under the stainless to keep it from discoloring.

Here's a link to Geno's MEGS tip. I just ordered one, as I liked the clean look of no clamp.

Jeff, when you get the tip, let me know how the install went. I'm thinking of ordering one for my rig.

Gibson exhaust started making polished stainless tips for 4 inch systems. I thinking I am going to order the 18 inch, 4 inch inlet/outlet turndown for my truck. The also make regular round and slash cut tips. The tip I had from them on my 1998 gasser was very nice and had the built in clamp.

I've got the 4" stainless Megs tip on mine and it goes on very easily. You don't even need a clamp but I put 2 stainless band clamps side by side and now it looks like the tip is about 7" longer.
I had a chrome tip on my dualley and it started to chip within a couple of days. I won't buy another chrome tip again....

I would recommend the 5" tip versus the 4". It looks better...

Does that Meg tip keep the soot off of the bumper?? Also, any cutting required??

Thanks

We have a couple of different styles of polished SS tips, including a resonator tip. You can see pictures on our exhaust page http://www.dieselpowerproducts.com/exhaust

Well, you just slide the Megs tip over your existing pipe w/ no cutting necessary and the tip sticks out further than the stock tailpipe so that helps. You can have it sticking out as far as you please. I haven't noticed any soot on my rear quarter but I never had that problem prior to the Megs tip.

Tip Info

Coobie,

What ever you decide on make sure it's stainless as the chrome ones tend to catch a lot of rocks etc from the rear wheels and then they rust pretty fast after the chrome gets knocked off. We have clamp on tips in straight cut and angle cut rolled edge T-304 polished stainless.

Chrome might last you the summer, Stainless will last for ever.

Still waiting for my Bushwacker Flares to arrive....

The Geno's 4 inch SS tip looks very good ($43.00 to the door). I made mine stick out an additional 4 1/2 inches- keeps the black soot off the fender. Works very well. I highly recommend it! I tried to shop around and fine one at a cheaper price- don't waste your time. The only way to get a cheaper one is to get one made out of aluminum, but it will not look as good!

It is not mentioned in the above replies, but I had to "tack" weld mine.....
