Well, diesels seem to make the most power when they are fully warmed up. The first time I was on the dyno DavidTD had to let the truck warm up for 15 minutes to get the temps up so I would make my best numbers. Now, the way I think is that while running around town the hotter your engine gets the more wear and tear you will have. I just like a cool running engine. It started when I was drag racing and to this day I do everything I can to keep it running cool. Optimum temp is probably right at 195-200 degrees though.....

Got the hood on now, picked it up yesterday and got on the interstate to drive 600 miles to Colorado. Through all of western Nebraska it was single digit temps but my engine temperature did not drop at all. Thats what the parts guy said it would do though...I had the body shop at the dealership paint it. When I picked it up the guy said, "wow you sure got a lot in that truck, you even got the propane, like nitrous for a diesel" Just reinforces the point that most of the people at these dealerships don't know jack about these trucks.
