SRT 10 Hood ?
I ordered an SRT 10 hood from the dealership today. Two questions: This hood is actually the hood used on the 03-05 SRT's as they stopped production of the SRT's in 05 but I'm assuming it will fit on the 06 b/c I have seen several trucks on here with it? Second question is that the guy at the parts desk told me it's not good for the engine because cool air will always be blowing on it and eng temps will be quite a bit lower. Is this really an issue to be concerned with? I wouldn't think so but just checking, I may put something in there to close it off anyways.

The hoods complete run around $600 at the local dealers.
I bought mine at my local dealer and had it painted at a local body shop.
All together it end up costing me around $950 or so.

Cost should be under $600 at the dealer, and then you'll need to have it painted and installed. As to the cold air, I blocked mine with a piece of black plastic bolted on behind the scoop grill. I think the Daytona version might be closed off, meaning you might be able to just install a Daytona grill in it to do the same thing. I blocked mine because I decided having winter saltwater pouring in on top of the engine was not such a good idea.

My dealer tried to screw me on my hood. I knew they should only be around $600. The parts department quoted me $850 and that was the best they could do. I said nice try and went to a body shop. They ordered the hood for $620 and painted it and installed it for me. Total bill was under $1000. Shop around.
