Splicing Banks and Commander Thermocoupler

I currently have the Banks Six-Gun w/ Speedloader on my 03 and I'm going to install a Quadzilla Commander and Smarty tomorrow. I'm curious if I can just splice the wires for the Commander thermocoupler into the Banks thermocoupler that is already on the truck.
Thanks.

I make TCs for everything. You can twist the wires together - they MUST have a good mechanical connection. Then solder the ends so they don't loosen. You won't know what you did to the calibration if you mix systems tho. Craig

i did my banks and autometer pyro together the only thing that i read was to make the split at the first connection from the thermocoupler. mine had ring termanels that had a small nut and screw. i never have and problems.

You'll have to cut the end off of the Quadzilla thermocouple and put on ring terminals because it has weatherpack connectors. You also may mess up the reading somewhat. Not sure how much though.....

Sounds good. I'll give it a shot and see how it goes. Thanks for the replies.

The "splice" will skew your calibration a tad, but it won't be significant for your purposes... it's not like you're trying to maintain NIST standards!

Well, I spliced them took her for a run w/ and w/o the trailer and it works good enough for me. First time I got the wires wrong and it read 32 degrees. Swapped the wires and she was good to go.
