spindle lift for 2" in front?
hey guys,
I have done a lot of searching and know that the spindle kits are preferred but here's my deal:
I have a 2wd 03 Dodge 2500 quad cab/shortbed. I want to lift the front 2".... if I get a spacer (who's spacer should I get) will I need an adjustable track bar bracket?
I am a pretty handy fabricator but have not looked at my spring/upper mount or the track bar.... could these parts be fabbed?
thanks and any pics of similar setups would be GREAT!

I run the Daystar 2.5" with Fabtech shocks on the front. If you go bouncing around offroad you'll notice that the front suspension does hit the stops when it hits full drop. For me I added air bags to the rear to get the stance that I was after.
CST does make a 3.5" spindle lift here is a link if it works - http://performancelifts.com/cgi-bin/cart/CSSD12.html

Spindle Kit
CST (cstsuspension.com) makes a 3.5" lift spindle for 2wds.
A local shop here in houston (Texas Truck Works) had some, not sure if they were CST or someone else. If I remember correctly they wanted either $600 or $800 for them.
The only problem is that the spindles require a different back spacing than stock. So in addition to the spindles new wheels would be required .
The spindles are very appealing to me due to the fact that they maintain stock suspension geometry, however the price tag is a fairly hefty pill to swallow.
I am thinking I will probably go with the spacers, and if I have to replace bearings down the line so be it. Not sure on costs but my guess is several replacements would be necessary before one would break even with the cost of the spindles.

I don't have any pics since I installed them, if it wasn't snowing I would taken some pics for you today.
This is how I installed the Daystar kit on my 2wdr dually:
I just jacked the frontend way up and put jackstands under the frame so the front tires just hang.
Removed the front tires.
Unbolted the sway bar end links.
Removed the shocks.
Put a floor jack under the lower control arm where the spring sits and removed the 2 bolts that go through the lower control arm bushings.
Let the jack down allowing the lower control arm to pivot on the lower ball joint.
Pulled the spring out and put the Daystar spacer on top of it and reinstall.......note that the bottom of the spring has a certain rotation it sits in the lower control arm.
Jacked the lower control arm back into place and reversed the rest of the above procedure.
Then had the front end aligned.
