Speedo Recalibration on 06's..is there a way it can be done yet?

Im looking at going with 35's for my truck and all i have read is that there is no way to adj the speedo on the 06 up trucks for the new tires. Is this still true or can it be done now? Thanks, Jason

Last I heard the dealer could only go up to a 285/70-17 size tire.

I'm not going to do mine. I just don't see a reason why I should.

A smarty can go from 25"-45" tires in .05" increments. Also, the dealer can go up to approximately 33.4 I think it is. It's something on a 19.5" rim. They can also adjust gear ratios down to 3.21.

Hope this helps!

Even if the dealer recalibrated it, when you load the bullydog on it I'm not sure how it would work.

I had my dealer calibrate for my tires and then went and tried to do a "try before you buy" thing from bullydog. The bullydog read the computer as already being programmed since some parameters weren't stock.

Do you really look at the speedo that much anyway? I don't. I can pretty much tell how fast I'm going by feel. Keeping pace with traffic is another gauge.

I had mine done at the dealer, and yes 285/70/17 is the largest tire that the dealer can recalibrate to.

Just wondering.....I have an 06 smarty on the way. I have 35's on my truck, what tire diameter have some of you entered that seems to calibrate the closest?? I know on my 01, you couldn't enter the exact height.

You don't enter tire height usually, you enter revolutions per mile. Anyways, just research the exact tire you have on that companies website and it usually will tell you revs per mile and actual tire height. My 40's were something like 39.8" tall and so many revs per mile. And since the smarty can adjust the tire sizes on my '06. I'm gonna order one as soon as I get my twins on. Right now my speedo says I'm going 62 when I'm doing 75. I use a GPS to keep actual track.
