Speedo recal

Am I getting the run around from my dealer mechanic he told me that he could only calibrate a tire size that was in the mopar system. I asked about the goin in through the abs system and doing revs per mile he said no could not be done. I put 315 70 17 on should I look else where?

I've had two dealers who were able to do it. I would make sure you are telling them you need your "Pinion factor reset". I called two dealers about the speedo recal and one told me they didn't have a dynomometer so they couldn't do it!! Once I refered to it the correct way, they figured it out.

Question

I don't have an 06' but do have an 05'. Have had the dealer re-set mine twice for no charge as I changed tires twice. They do it with an OB-111 scaner and takes about 3 minutes. All they need is RPM of the tires. The first time I didn't know and he looked up the manufacture and size in a book he had and pluged in the RPM number for that tire. The second time I gave him the RPM number off the internet from the tire manufacture. I don't see why they would have changed the procedure for the 06's?????

Well I don't have an 06, but from what I have seen posted the programming has changed. Setting the "Pinion Factor" to specific other RPM is no longer an option with the new Starscan or what ever the replacement for the DRBIII is. I have seen this discussed on a number of threads on TDR. I don't think anyone had a solution that was as exact as the "Pinion Factor". If I remember they were doing gear ratio changes with the available pre-programmed tire sizes to try to get close.
