Yeah trade that FE for a dual disk while you still can. I have a FE in my truck and my buddy who is running the same setup got the dual disk and his is so much smoother to drive. Otherwise congrats on the awesome sounding truck.

with the stocker turbo i don't know. i think there was someone on here that had the same setup and the stocker right around 450 or so? we'll see!! egts through the roof!

The FE will start to slip in the 500-550hp area with hard use.
I would advise going with a dual disk before you get that installed.

About 450hp. My roommate has the OFE and it's holding 401 very well. Very smooth clutch. Except lately it's been starting out kinda rough. Don't know why though.

the FE has almost no "slipability" at take off it is either in or out. If you try and slip it your truck will bounce around like a beginner learning to drive a 4 cyl honda stick. If I could have driven both before choosing I would have the dual disk. My FE is holding about 500 hp. It is very hard to back up with any kind of trl except in 4 lo. Just mt 2 cents.

hey bad, have you dyno'd that 500 hp? just wondering because sbc says the fe will hold 550 hp-1100 tq right? is yours slipping or holding it well? i've heard great things about this clutch until it seems; the time to install is here. now all i get is that you should get a dd. interesting huh? any info greatly appriciated

What is the stock clutch rated for???? Just curious!! Also is this a do it yourself type project???

I did my SBC swap, was not a bad deal, just make sure you have a trans jack, that 6spd is one heavy piece. The only jerking I get is trying to back up the 5th, it weights in about 14k loaded. This MU 1947 Con. OFE is holding all the power I have thrown at it without blinking an eye. Stock clucth was slipping at 3/3 on the TST with the Edge at 3 and no trailer, don't know HP rating, have never dyno'd it yet, would love to but nothing seems to be close to my area in Michigan, thinking about the Southern Indiana Chapter meet when they decide a date and location.

I don't think that's it. It's only jerky on the start. Other than that it's rock solid and smooth as silk. It definately doesn't slip. He can do a 2000 rpm launch on 35's and it doesn't even slip. Just hooks, boils the tires, and goes.
