South Bend Clutches

I noticed on SB's website that under the twin-disc setup, they refer to "extreme or heavy" increase in pedal pressure. How much of a difference over stock is this? Does a heavy duty twin-disc setup basically make the truck difficult in city traffic? I plan on getting to at least 600 RWHP so a twin is almost a must, but I don't want to kill it's drivability. Are there any solutions or is their definition of "extreme and heavy" not a big deal?

Their upgraded master and slave is a nice addition. I've driven with the stocker and the upgrade.

Once you get used to the clutch effort, you'll forget about it. Yes, it takes more effort, but it's not undriveable by any means.

The first time you try it you might say whoa. It passes.

Glad to hear that I am used to heavy clutches but there was something about "extreme effort" that had me a little concerned!!

I have the 3600 something or other model of twin disk in my truck. I did not bother to install the hydraulic upgrade. I probably will, as city driving gets tiresome after some time, but it's not at all unmanageable.

It is definitely more pedal pressure than stock, but with the upgraded hydraulics it is livable for city driving. If you are used to heavy clutches, than it should be no problem.
