South Bend Clutch Problem

I instlled the South Bend 3600 about 1000 miles ago and now I am having some problems with it. Gradually the clutch would become more and more tough to get into gear. Now, I can not get it in any gear when the truck is running. There is negative play in the clutch. like 2" worth I put it in gear to start the truck and the truck moves. I hope this is an easy fix. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked your hydros yet? You could also give Peter at SBC a call and see what he says.

You may have damaged the fingers. That sounds similar to what happened to mine.

800-988-4345. See that it was a 3600 you installed. Peter will tell you that the DD3600 wasn't designed for daily driving, hence the fingers breaking on them. This could be your issue also, it has been an occurence.

If you have upgraded hydraulics You simply try adjusting the throw by adjusting the rod that hooks to the pedal.

Give Peter a call, he will be able to help you out. Did you upgrade the hydros? If not I bet that is your problem.

Peter told me that was the 3850, i told him my truck was going to be a DD and probably hook to the sled a handfull of times and he said go with the 3600 hands down!

I thought any of them that didn't use a sprung hub was possible to break a finger with consistent high power daily driving. But maybe I'm wrong

I had the 3600 sprung hub matter of fact i had 3 of them, daily driving was about all the clutch wanted, it not a puller.

I had the 3600 sprung hub and had a finger break. It was acting similar to what you discribe. I went with the 3250 as I'm not doing any pulling it's a daily driver. I couldn't be any happier. It's alot easier to engage and shifts so much smother and faster. Call Peter he will take good care of you.
