Something is wrong. Accident waiting to happen
I have a 06 ram 3500. Hauling cattle with it and went over a set of railroad tracks and when I created the tracks the steering wheel started to shake and it felt like the front tire was falling off. This was hauling empty. Pulled over and looked underneath nothing appeared broke. Drive it back home no problems. Unhooked trailer brought into shop lifted front end everything appeared right. Hooked the bale trailer up to get bales and on my way back with a loaded trailer it did it again. What the hell is going on. I just had an alignment done. I have dual shock absorbers on front. Ball joints are tight. Lugs are tight. Never had this issue before with it.

"Death Wobble"? So after 6 years of driving it and never having an issue all of a sudden that is the issue. It has never acted up on me until yesterday. Twice in one day. I find it hard to believe all of a sudden "poof" I'm infected with a the notorious death wobble. Weird?

It never happened on mine for five years and one day it just happened. Culprit was a sabotaged balance job by a disgruntled tire shop. Worn tires,BFG 315's,worn components, shot steering stabilizer or poor alignment are but some of the causes. Mine first manifested itself at highway speeds, after hitting an expansion joint.

I've only had it truly occur once and it turned out that my lower shock bolt on the passenger side had backed out. I went over a set of railroad tracks at highway speed that was following by a curve to the left. The wheel was shaking so bad that it wouldn't even steer left till I dropped off some speed.

Lots of things can contribute to the occurence of DW...worn parts being the MOST common. After 6 years on oem front end parts, you definitely need to have your the ENTIRE front suspension and steering linkage on your truck checked out for play and wear.

I know most of use that have had our trucks for some time or past dodge trucks we know what issues are issues. Just like the death Wobble. not saying that the original OP's Shop he went to really know what to look for on our Dodge trucks to Rule out stuff. Most shops have no clue what it is if you bring up death wobble, Let alone the dealerships.
Most shops do a visual and spin the tires when they are off the ground. Not many will take the time and lift the truck and move the entire steering system watching all the connecting joints etc.
I had my tires rotated last month when i was out of town and it was a new tire shop. I told the shop to rotate and just check over my steering up front. I think I said to much cause I mentioned that I have the upgraded steering from a 4th gen dodge.
when i came back to pick up truck the tech said to me how did you get the 4th gen axle on my truck.
I guess he thought for me to have the steering linkage from a 4th gen that it needed a 4th gen front axle.
lets say I'm not going back to that place.
