So I'm a little worried about all these "stuck" injectors!

Two of my local buddies with 05's are dealing w/ Dodge/Cummins right now on problems supposedly caused by a stuck/broken/etc? injector. Fuel dumped, pistons possibly f'd or on the verge of being that way.

Here's my question: Does anyone know what causes this, and how it can be prevented? I was getting ready to add a Glacier pump on my 05 thinking that would be the solution to my 500+/-HP goal. Both guys were running tuning boxes (one from SP Diesel, not too sure about the other). Are the injectors cracking because of not enough fuel/too much heat? Would a Glacier pump prevent this? Or does it pretty much happen either way? If so, I may have to seriously consider getting out of this truck before I have way too much time/money in trying to mod it to make it fast/powerful.

But quite frankly, I owe $25,000 on my truck, I'm not trying to buy a new motor from Cummins like they are pretty are going to have to.

I am not speaking from experience here, because I have not had an injector failure in mine so far with 70K. I don't run any additives either. But I do believe running clean, 2 micron filtered, fuel would have to benefit the injectors. I recently installed this kit along with a GDP walbro 392 pump. Our high pressure (25,000+ psi ) injection pumps put alot of pressure on those injectors. I believe sending cleaner fuel to them can only benefit them and make them less likely to fail.

Another thing would be to go easy on the boxes/tuners that increase pressure.

Don M ( http://www.f1diesel.com/ ) agrees. His opinion carries alot of weight with me regarding injectors.

Ditto, dirty fuel plus pressure equal bad injectors. I have had no problems in 37k but I use pressure very sparingly and I now have a 2u filter. I know some run 2 2u filters just to be extra safe. I also run power service and mmo, I dont know if it helps or not, but I figure it cant hurt.
