Did you extract the file? The download is zipped, and you'll need to extract it to be able to upload it to the Smarty...

side note-Vista sucks. I have it on my laptop. Wish I had XP...

onto the computer you will be using for updating the smarty, it is a driver that tells the computer how to use the device when you plug it in. It is on the mads site, along with the newest software. and directions.

I have everything downloaded and my computer will not recognize the smarty as new hardware so the "found new hardware wizard" will not open. Is there another way to install the driver? I get the FTD2XX.DLL not found message and I don't know how to get the cdm file loaded. I have it unzipped already but I am open to suggestions on how to get it installed. Thanks.

Can load the driver by using device manager. Plug in the Smarty to the computer through the USB cable and go into control panel/system/device manager. Looked for a unrecognized USB device and open it. Then go to the driver tab and click on update driver. Select the correct path the the Smarty driver (dll) file.
