smarty/tst/mp-8
Would the tst help out much with my mods? or can i get just as much out of the smarty/mp8? The only plus i see with the tst is the duration, and i assume all 3 would be the same for pressure. So why do some of you guys run the mp8 with the smarty/tst when the tst can handle the pressure?

Well, I'll take the other side... I would definately recommend the Smarty/TST/MP-8 stack.
I've been running this setup for a couple years with no problems. I dynoed about 2 years ago with Smarty #9, TST on 4/1, and MP-8 on 100%. Mods at that time were SPS66 turbo, 5" exhaust, AFE stage 2, and a walbro pump. This combo made 558 hp and 998 torque on Dunbar's dyno.
A couple months ago, I installed a Helix 2 cam, springs, Wild fuel rail, Flux 2.5s, got the Smarty TNT-R with PoD upgrade, and upgraded the TST to the latest as well. I also added an AFE Bladerunner intake, fluidampr w/pin kit, etc. I know I'm limited right now by the stock cp3, but these mods made a HUGE difference. It feels like it easily added 100 hp, although I know that making much over 600 hp on the stock cp3 is rare. I've settled on running TNT-R leve 7, TST on 2/0 with timing turned off and standard program, and adjust MP-8 as needed...usually on 10% for daily driving.
It's always dangerous to say without dyno numbers, but I'd guess the TST adds around 40 - 50 hp on my setup. Of course, you need to know a little what you're doing, have the appropriate gauges, and not go overboard on timing...

Let's answer some of your questions though first. TST can do pressure, but for some reason it does not like modded cp3's and will cause surge. So that feature is pretty much useless to modded trucks. Timing, pretty much the same thing. Let your smarty do the timing. TST is made to be a stand alone tuner so it does all these things, and by itself does it well, but when stacking, it really comes down to adding just a touch of duration. The MP-8 is better for your pressure because you can really fine tune it to your needs, plus it is a very easy "tune on the fly" so you can keep the pressure off until you need it and thus gain more life from the injectors. Look at the previous poster. He went from 4/1 on TST a couple years ago to 2/0 running TNT/r. 2/0 is about all TST can add to TNT/r. Any more than that is too much duration overlap and will lead to melted pistons. So how much does that 2/0 really add? Enough on my truck to gain almost a half second in the 1/4 mile. Since you are heavily modded, you will stand to gain from adding TST. Just don't try to get that "little bit more" by turning it past 2/0 if you are running TNT. With the "Beta" files, you can go up to 3 or 4/0.

I run this stack less the mp-8 (I use the puc). I usually do not mess with the duration, it stays on zero. But running the Smarty POD on 6/TST 4-6 and puc on 60hp seems to have lots of power and reasonable EGT's at WOT. The nice thing about my setup is I can pretty much control everything on the fly.

My TST has everything except RP option. I have found that my EZ and probably any good pressure box adds to the Smarty. I have ran on the track with Smarty alone, Smarty/EZ, TST/EZ and all three stacked. I get more boost and a little more top end with the TST.
I have settled on close to the same combo as enafzige, Smarty TNT/R SW #7, TM4, RP2, Timing 2. TST on 2/0 (05tt, timing 12* Auto) and EZ on Level 1 for DD and Level 2 for the track.
Daily driving I set PoD on 45. Good power, decent mileage and smoke very manable.
