I have the same problem with the idle picking up and I hoping that as soon as I update it with the newer software that it will get rid if that surge in idle. The truck itself doesen't run away, but the idle will kick up to 1000 rpms if I tap the gas at idle and won't kick back down, anyone else have this problem? Other than that I love my SMARTY...

Why don't you try stock or soft TM softwares if your throttle is to touchy and there is too much smoke down low? Soft was the ticket for me. You should have a TST in the mix if you want real top end...

I second the thought that your probe/gauge must be wrong...or your CP# is starved for fuel....or the rail is dry from a bad relief valve...etc. There are a bunch of other reasons you may not be geting enough fuel to push over 1300.

A stock truck does that!

Hey 97, here's the thread I was talking about where the guy was dumping to much fuel in and making nothing but smoke.

https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=119261

Read the first post.

i know my truck stock fueled hits 1300*...did it on Monday. Last night i never saw over 1300*....and the pyro hasn't gotten any worse since monday...but it does have issues. I will never buy autometer again....infact i'm gonna switch out for isspro's asap.

This is with the Stock Torque Management tune from the website.

From talking it over with BigBlue, i don't think the Smarty was made to be used over level 5 with a stock turbo....but level 5 isn't very fast. I prefer crazy larry for my stock turbo-ed truck.

No problem. Don't take what I say as the gospel truth. This is just a theory I have in my head and with my limited knowledge of how the 2g smarty works. I figure that if it dumps that much extra fuel into my engine at that low of an rpm and can only add 65hp, I can only imagine how much fuel it must dump into yours. Especially when you start adding pressure to it.

it all makes sense to me too now that you explain it all.

theres too much fuel down low causing it to bog down and a loss of low end power (and power all across the board) because of too much fuel. I'm gonna be running smarty on 5 with my MP8 until i get Crazy Larry again. my Smarty is already sold.

i won't be able to make it to sams tonight btw....but we'll all be on the roof thursday.
