Smarty Revo rail pressure help
I've tried to find something on this, but I had no luck.
I'm kinda new to the whole smarty thing. But I've been running SW9 TQ2 TM4 RP2 for a while.
Comparing it to stock, I'm running about 2000psi less of rail pressure. So I just decided to try RP3. Now in certain situations, I'm near stock rail pressure, with much faster ramp.
Just to give you some numbers for SW9 TM2 TM4 RP3:
45mph torque converter locked 12-1300rpms 10-12Kpsi rail
60mph 1600rpms 15-18Kpsi rail
For comparison at stock: 45mph 14-16Kpsi rail & 60mph 17-20Kpsi.
Two questions:
I know that Mads states that its no recommended to run RP3 all of the time, but is it cuz of the ramp rate or how high you're running the rail pressure?
Are my numbers what others seeing with similar rail pressure?
Thanks for the help in advance.

The stock rates seem a little high. The reason on the Mads recommendation is running high overall pressure shortens injector life. In comparison to what you see, my average pressure at 65 mph and about 1900 rpm hovers around 12-13k psi and I see 8-9k at times on lower loading at that speed/rpm. Whose injectors do you think will last longer all things being equal?
When changing the RP on smarty it only changes the ramp rate, not the overall max seen which is around 24k psi.

I was just trying to see if I could get my rail pressure close to stock running smarty.
You're right with all things being equal yours will last longer. But you're also a SO '04 & I'm an HO '05. I know that the running pressures are little higher between the two years.
