This might be a dumb question. I was looking at the smarty and the dif seating. What is the difference when it says that is adds 60 hp with add timing or 60 with no add timing. What is the pro and cons of add timing. Is one better than the other.

The timing function is the program injecting the fuel sooner (advancing). In a non-stack setup (running the programmer and a performance box) run the odd numbers, will help keep the EGTs down. Only reason not run the timing is when there's a performance box installed that does timing also. To much timing is not a good thing. Creates very high peak pressure that can stretch the studs and blow out the head gasket.

^^^ Yeah, the stock timing is retarded for emissions, so advancing it brings it back to where it should be for maximum power/efficiency.
