I understand the damage prevention benefits of EGT and trans temp gauges. But, how does knowing your boost avoid damage? Doesn't the stock turbo self-limit the boost anyway?

Interesting. So, can the S-Jr lunch the turbo or does it still limit the boost at some (safe) point?

A boost gauge is what you drive by to get good fuel mileage. Keep it under 10 Psi of boost for better mileage type of deal. If you have an EGT issue due to a leak at the CAC the boost gauge will also point that out to you along with an EGT gauge. All stock gauges are a good thing.
