Smarty Jr. Problems?
I sold my Jr. to a friend with a stock '07 3500 4X4 Manual 5.9. I had absolutely no problems with it on my truck, but he's having troubles with it on his. 1st. when on 70, or 100 tunes the cruse controll will cause the engine to buck hard intermitantly. Doesn't do it on the 40hp tune. Today it bucked real bad, & truck died. No dash,gauges, etc for several key cycles. Then it started, & ran fine again. I looked it over while returning it to stock, & have some ?'s.
His dash reads "no buss" when the smarty is programing. Is this normal for an 07? Also, I couldn't hear the relays clicking on his, like I could on my truck when it's programing. Is that normal for an 07? I checked for DTC's, & there were none.

well, ive had mine on 70 scince friday and running on the freeway with cruise set at 73mph. So far no problems what so ever. Sorry to hear that about your friends bad luck. I love my smarty jr

Does your dash say "no buss" in the odometer when the smarty is programing? BTW the door has to be closed, or it reads door open on his truck.

This also happen to me a couple of times when i first recieved the smarty jr. My truck wouldnt buck in cruise however it would go into the recovery mode because it would say "error in communication, no bus". Please keep us posted bob.

I got my Jr Monday and have been running it on 100 all week, **** i love it!!!!! Not one problem except gas prices. Thanks Bob for the great product (candy bar), and the Jr is good too.

OOOPS! Sorry Bob had asked me yesterday ( or was that the other day ) to chime in here. With all the beta testing stuff I've had forgotten.... Waaahhhaaa
In all honesty, that's the first time ever we have this problem. The no bus thing is WEIRD. Anyway, Bob is contacting you in order to have you read the ECM revision # from the ECM. That way I can check if there's something wrong in the software(s) for that particular truck. Hard to believe, but could be....
