Looking at a ~1 MPG gain so far on the OH. Time will tell. I have some idle time due to the weather. My driving is 90% in town. I'll report back when I top her off.

On a side note I have learned POD is nice in the snow. Almost acts like a traction control cause it seems to fuel slower and less agressive.

When reporting your POD mileage please be sure to include the SW, TQ and TM settings as well.

I have a feeling the TQ settings can have an impact on the mileage gains, especially around town. I like the extra kick off the liine, but I know it's impacting my MPG a bit.

Looking at least a +2MPG difference compared to smarty jr revo sw1. This was on SW2/TM4/T3 at about 35POD. My guess is about 80%city rarely getting over 45mph. Thinking about trying out SW3/POD50.

Hand calculated...

Overhead was reading 20.4 (SW2 default) now 22.4.
Actually made it 7 days to fill up was every 5 days.
Mine was 18.9 (Hand Cal) 530 miles 90% on I-95, up about 2mpg.

SW2 45% TM3 TQ4 with 300# ballast in bed, Stanadyne perf. added.

now trying SW3 50% TM3 TQ4

Well after couple days over head 24.1 hand 21.2 sw2 tm2 tq2 60% POD, wow did it feel funny. Tranny never held 3rd hold that long before. Nice though didn't go to quick and then lug. RPM's never hit over 22-2300. Boy is it quiter running as well. Going to run sw2 tm4 tq3 for a while and see what the difference is like. Got to say it does drive nice. Oh 80 hwy 20 city so far.

Downloaded the POD software yesterday and have been playing with it ever since. Before the pod i usually either kept my JR on the economy setting (original software) or just kept the truck stock. My reason for downloading the pod was to be able to have 100 extra hp when i wanted to play with someone, but then turn it back down to around stock when i was just riding along or when towing, hoping this would be easier on the tranny than just keeping it turned up all the time.

Once i got the POD downloaded i set the truck to the performance setting. I tried it on a bunch of different setting so far just see how it felt. Here are is my impression of the different settings. Keep in mind i left the TM and TQ at the default settings so far.

45--seemed capable of holding its speed on flat ground. takes a lot of pedal to go up hills or move from a start like i am used to. Punching it made the truck feel pretty weird. Tranny definetly holds each gear longer, i assume this is because of the actual throttle position.

55--If i can get over how much more i have to press the pedal to accelerate, i think its just a bit slower than stock, but definetly holds each gear out farther, which i think is great. No more shifting out of first at 5 mph like my truck usually tries to do.

62--This is what i am on right now. Holds each gear a little longer than stock. Takes just a tiny bit more pedal to accelerate than stock, but, once you are going 60 or so, rolling into the throttle is stronger than stock.

75--Using ah64id's math, this should be really close to stock power. On my truck it feels stronger though, especially rolling onto the throttle at 60 mph for example, it pulls noticeably harder than stock for sure.

85--feels strong, stronger than stock, probably stronger than the economy setting im used to, but definetly louder than usual when you are on it.

99--runs great. Smokes less than the ecomony setting on the original software, but is pretty loud when you are on it.

These are the settings i remember so far. I have tried a few others, but not long enough to really get a feel for it. What i have found so far is that i dont think i can find a setting that really feels "stock." If i make the low speed acceleration feel like stock, its faster once you are moving. If i make the roll on acceleration feel like stock, its weaker on bottom. No complaints, just interesting to see how it all works and acts.

No clue on mileage yet, been on and off the throttle 200 times since yesterday

A suggestion to Marco and the MADS site. Since 95% of people are on DSL now, add a non-zipped version of the Smarty.exe file and a non-zipped version of the latest download. All of the people that have been having trouble configuring their computer for updates will be suddenly happy.

AH64ID, any magical words on setting PoD for winter driving? (NV5600 style)

I'm about to install PoD for the first time. And wake up my sleeping Giant. The tank was last filled on Dec 25th. It's still at the 5/8 mark, so I'll fill it and do a maximum mileage test. I got 20.4mpg on Beta 4, SW1.

I have been running my PoD on 40 with SW2 and am going to try 45 on SW1 today...

The lack of "power spikes" are nice..

I tried some different setting for MPG over the weekend, 1100 miles, but came up with nothing definitive compared to the same trip last year.. except that TM4 does give better hwy mileage... (last year I was still on original SW.. which is TM4).
