I did the cold air mod with the toilet flange installed in bottom of stock air box and tube to the front bumper, and I am STILL pulling the filter minder way into the yellow with just a few power runs.

Could it be the Amsoil filter?

I saw a post somewhere that the guy took his filter COMPLETELY out & it still sucked it down. I wouldn't go by that piece o junk @ all.

The filter minder was intended for stock airboxs, so when you put a higher performance intake or filter on it you can expect the thing to be useless because aftermarket intakes pull more air through at a different velocity.

It can't be useless, because it is spring loaded, and the yellow won't fall down on its own or by magic. It is telling you that there IS a pressure drop between the intake duct and the outside of the airbox. Period. You can replace the minder with a vacuum gauge and it will tell you the same thing. The question is whether or not you can find a filter and housing that will flow enough to cause no restriction.

Correct! It was pulling down before I added the cold air/ram mod. Started when I added the smarty. It's a no brainer that I am making more horsepower and adding more fuel so I need more air! The mod added air to the bottom/intake side of the air box but the Amsoild filter is still the most restricting part. I will try and experiment of removing the filter and doing a few runs and post results.

ding ding ding...... a winner! it often doesn't even work in the stock airbox, with the stock filter. but there are some that will tell you that it must work, because dodge wouldn't put something like that in for no reason at all right? how many people have never had their 'water in fuel' light go on, even when you can see water was in your canister, when you drain it?
