Smarty Jr. and MPG Towing optimal settings?

I know this gets asked from time to time but I just saw the program had an update and it has been over a year since I messed around with my unit.

I'm generally towing my 6500lb dry toy hauler with another 2000lbs of motorcycles and gear. I have a stock 2007 5.9L 2500, with a smarty jr and gauges.

I wanted to know what the best settings would be for mileage, I was running my timing at 4 but there was way too much smoke and it was a pain to clean the trailer with all the soot, so I moved it to 2, please keep this in mind. I would prefer as little smoke as possible as long as it didn't sacrifice mpg too much.

Sorry for the redundant question, I just can't find anything recent.

Z

I'd say you about got it.
I turn mine down if I have questionable fuel and the valves get a bit loud.
For the weight you are pulling you may want to try Performance at a low setting and see how it does. That isn't much weight at all for these trucks.

I am currently on SW2, Tm 2 and Timing 2 and POD at 95, do you think this is a good setting for me only thinking about mileage? Thank you.

i know my rig is a diff year model, but fwiw i tow on the default sw2 setting and get great power and no smoke whatsoever. my toy box is just a bit heavier dry weight and i do the same w/bikes, fuel, water, etc. in added weight. pass people on grades like they're standing still.....
