Yes, all will stay the same...along with any changes you may have made to your "ABS" setting (if you have changed tire sizes).

I was actually shocked that even when you download a newer version, your settings are still saved on what you previously had it on (I guess I thought it would clear everything...I personally love this feature)

I wish Smarty or someone would come up with a fix for the lie-o-meter, so that it could at least be consistent. Does the meter actually look at a fuel flow rate and the odometer change rate?

I agree with that !!! It would be nice to have an accurate MPG readout.

I agree, but it's not even a consistent error. Thou if you could make a correction for the average error at least it would be closer.

Look at my average error over the years

2007: 3.64%
2008: 10.95%
2009: 17.46%
2010: 17.5%
2011: 18.4% (was up at high as 20% for a while this year)

and a small example of the error changing.

I don't own a Smarty or anything like it. Do these (Smarty, Edge...) do they really save fuel? And if so how much of a gain can you expect to get? I drive about 17.4 miles round trip to work (45 to 55 mph) daily. I try to keep my RPM's around 1,500 to 2,000 @ start off from stop light, stop sign to help in fuel savings. I'm getting around 11 to 15.9 mpg (lie-o-meter showing about 17 to 18mpg)! Of course I'm running the A/C all the time cause the temps have been in the triple digits for the last 60 some odd days!
