Smarty Jr fuel economy

Not looking for any more power, just want to increase the mileage. Any before/after mpg numbers with the smarty jr? Any problems? Thanks!

Well I have had the jr on for about 2 months now and have tried lots of different settings but not all and I could see the 100hp tm4 tq2 being good of mileage but not if your into the peddle alot(that is why I cant use it til I get the tranny beefed up) but right now I am set on 40hp,tm4 tq2.I just did a hunting trip roudn trip 370 miles 340 of that highway 70mph and she got 18.5,would have been better but the other 30 miles were short and a bit of idling, that was set everything to stock except tq at 2.What you getting for mileage now?

Fuel economy is going to be subjective, really depends on the engine and driving style. You may are may not see a gain. But what's nice about the Jr is the POD feature, the ability to detune the engine power wise. Just something you will have to play with to find the sweet spot.

I'm getting 20 mpg mixed driving, 70 on the highway with my Smarty Sr. set on kill (level 9 with full timing). Thats with a 4x4 dually with towing gears...not bad I'd say.

With economy setting and PoD at 75, I get about 2mpg more than stock. That's on the highway.

Around town, the PoD setting doesn't seem to affect the mileage at all. I get 15mpg at 100 and at 75.

I run the Jr on SW3 TQ2 TM2 (IIRC) and PoD at 75. I drive mostly highway and fairly flat ground. I do all hand calculations and get right at 19.7 to 20.1 MPG
I do about 80% Hwy 20% City

At what speed? There can be a significant difference from 65-75 mph.

Very true!! I'm usually at 70mph. Most of my driving is with little traffic too. I go to work at 3:30am and go home around 11:00am

I have NOT noticed any significant increase in fuel (19-20 at 65-70mph)mileage with the Jr. BUT i am at the SW1-default 40 HP(which is noticable on increased power)settings. I have not tried playing with the Jr on higher settings due to a stock tranny. Would like to try the SW3 but I guess I am a bit "chicken"
Guess I need to try different settings and see what happens..
Seems like the 5.9 outta do better on MPG`s though.......................

You can run the higher settings if you can have "control" of the go pedal!!
