Smarty/Jr differences

I'm at the point of getting a Smarty or a Smarty Jr box, bot I'm still unclear as to the benefit of the Sr box.

I was under the impression that the Jr only had a few HP settings and nothing else. But, in reading many posts about the Jr, it seems as though the Jr allows for timing and Tq settings.

I'm not pulling a sled or racing, but I'd like to be able to tweak timing and boost.

Pick a box for me!

garrett

PS,

I've searched through what seems like 1,000 posts and saw nothing conclusive about the differences. I'm sure there's an answer in the forums somewhere, so I'm happy with an older post that answers my questions.

I have the JR. and your right, JR gives you 3 basic settings, 40/70/100 then you can tweak timing and torque. I am sure the Sr. guys will be very quick to straighten me out if i stray here but I think you get more choices for basic HP and you also add, RP and maybe boost to, not sure on that second one.

Biggest differences are overall power, Jr is good for 0-100hp over stock, Sr is if you want more than 100hp over stock..

You also get more aggressive tq management settings, more timing options, and rail pressure options on the Sr.

The Jr comes standard with PoD, where its a $200 upgrade on the Sr.

Jr works great for me.

Another option the Sr. has over the Jr. is the ability to adjust the speed limiter settings.

Stock, the truck starts defueling at around 110 mph.

i have the jr in my truck and i thought when it says jr it wouldent be to powerfull well now that i have it its got plenty of power i cant imagine what i would do to my tires and trans with the sr. very impressive little toy!!!
on the 100hp mode if i floor it under 40mph the trans slips so i try to not do that anymore other than the tonz of power, smokes when you try to make it, and i went from an avg 18-19 mpg to 21-22 mpg hand calc the meter says between 20 -27 ???

Ok, I'm pretty sure that I'm gonna get the Jr, being that my injectors and turbo are stock.

I get the POD feature, but what is the difference between the REVO and the standard units?

Which on a manual trans truck is already past the refuel rpms... but on an auto it would make a difference.

If I remember correctly, the original Smarty Jr. programs just had the three basic pre-set HP/TQ settings.

The current REVO software gives you the three settings, plus the ability to adjust/customize the timing and torque settings. The POD option then allows you to adjust the REVO software settings - on a percentage of power basis.

I recommend you read through the following two threads to learn more about the Jr. and it's options and settings: Smarty Jr.POD settings (for us slow folks) & Smarty POD Mileage Settings
