Smarty JR Arrived......

I first installed the Economy setting, which I believe to be the SW # 1 : 40 Hp increase version.

Took it around the block, and I did notice a very slight increase. Smoother acceleration and the EGTs were right around stock. Not all that impressed, because I wanted more! I guess this is why it is called economy.

I then installed the Towing setting, which I believe to be the SW # 2 : 70 Hp increase version. This was very different with an immediate increase in power. From a dead stop it pulls to 60 mph instantly.

I did notice that the EGTs went up abount 100 degrees more, than stock.

Before, I was never able to get an EGT temp over 900. Now, when getting on it decently hard, 900 was regularly seen.

I did not even try flooring it, because I knew I would break traction.

I am going to run the SW # 2 : 70 Hp increase version for a while and see how it does.

I will definately try the Performance setting, which is the SW # 3 : 100 Hp increase tune.

According to Bob, for the torque levels, it is roughly double the numer of the HP setting.

Question

Thanks for the info. How does the driveability seem? Smoke? Timing rattle?

Driveability is great!

The motor sounds exactly the same as stock.

There is no smoke at the 30HP or 70HP level.

I will try the 100 HP soon.......

I have heard that the 03-04's don't smoke because of the injectors are smaller. I'm looking at getting the JR myself.

I just installed the JR on my 04.5 and it smokes alot, especially on the 70 h.p. setting. I have not tried the 100 h.p. setting yet. I am hoping it will lower my egt when I am towing. I had the Bully Dog before and was seeing very high egt's.

Not seeing hardly any smoke. Maybe a tiny little bit if I look in my blind spot on my towing mirrors. Even on the 100 hp setting.

Happy with mine, however I definitely want to upgrade to the senior after I get a new converter.

Yeah, I agree. After driving a little more it is pretty easy to control.

Well, I could not wait and loaded the #3 100 HP tune today.

It seems like the #2 setting has better overall power, throughout the RPM level.

#3 is very powerful, just does not seem to have the low end power that #2 has.

Anyone else think #2 is better than #3?

#2 or the 70 hp is my favorite, I have driven all three setting for a month each and the 70 H.P. is the one for towing and daily driving. Ive been very happy with the Jr. great product!!

I thought that level 3 has more low end

I also think doing the valvebody gave it more low end though, so maybe thats related.
