I had the 65 XZT and never felt it was doing what it should. Couldn't get Quadzilla to talk to me so went ahead and tried the Smarty. On their 60 hp setting I felt the truck was much more responsive and performed much better including shifting. I moved up to the 90 hp setting just recently and it's obviously much more then the XZT.

I had the same concern though, with the Jr. 500 bucks seemed a lot for up to 35 more hp but when you look at the whole picture and the added benefits of a Smarty or Jr. it's worth it to me. Nor positive I would go to a full blown Smarty again since I really won't use the upper levels. At least not until I get a new tranny but it's nice to know I do have it for down the road when that happens and if I feel I need it. One other thing on the Smarty, very nice to calibrate the speedo for larger tires, no more guessing.

diningernm: See I don't know how similar the XZT module is to the 60hp on the Xzillaraider module, but I felt like on the 30hp mode on the XZ module you couldn't even tell it was on, and the 65hp tune was just a slight bump from there. Like if I jumped in the truck and someone had left it on 65hp and I thought I was in stock mode I may not have even noticed the difference without looking. So I guess I kind of had the same experience you did in that regard.

Then on the 100hp mode the thing hauled @$$ from a standing start but once I got into my admittedly too-tall OD (3.73s and 35" tires) it kinda fell on it's face in the lower RPMs.

Now with the Smarty in 70hp it may not be as fast from a standing start when you have your revs up, but when I am cruising at 1500-1600 rpms at 55-60 mph when I get on it that things just flat out goes. Can't be good on the tranny I suppose, but it is nice to be able to rapidly pick up speed without downshifting. I know it is fueling sooner too because of the smoke. I could get none with the XZ.
