Smarty Fuel Saver Program

Smarty Fuel Saver Program
Does smarty offer a program that lets you run your truck on three cylinders, as in each injector fires every other time instead. I am not sure on the firing order but say only cylinders 1, 3, and 5 inject and 2, 4, and 6 dont then next time around 2, 4, and 6 inject and 1, 3, and 5 dont. I think that would be a good program to be able to load when doing any kind of long distance freeway traveling.

I think if we all showed some interest in a program like this I think the guys at smarty could probably put that program together since fuel prices are starting to get out of hand I could really use that program

Only issue I see with this is having to keep reprogramming the ECM to disable this feature every time you need the power back.
Better off just running the lower settings and or slow down for better economy.

There would be no point in killing cylinders with a diesel. The reason they do it with a gasser is because they need to maintain a certain air/fuel ratio to keep from melting down. A diesel cant ever run lean, it just shuts off. You could always use the valet feature of the Smarty which is 1/2 power. I havent really heard of anyone using it for fuel economy but maybe you could and report back

I emailed mads electronics and they said that they were going to work on something and test it out on the dyno. They said they think there could be a balance issue but they are going to see what happens when they try it on the dyno and keep me posted.
